Welcome to Menvo. By using our platform, you agree to the terms and guidelines governing our free voluntary mentorship community.

Platform Use
Menvo is a volunteer, non-profit initiative that connects professionals willing to share knowledge with people seeking career guidance. Using the platform and every mentorship is 100% free. Charging or offering payment for mentorships arranged through Menvo is not allowed.
Voluntary participation, no employment relationship
Mentors and mentees take part of their own free will, at no cost, and anyone can stop at any time without notice or justification. Mentoring is unpaid and creates no employment, partnership, association or service relationship, nor any labor, social security or similar obligation, either between participants or between them and Menvo, in line with the Brazilian Volunteer Service Law (Law No. 9,608/1998, art. 1, sole paragraph). Accepting these Terms at sign-up serves as the agreement to take part in volunteer activity. Because the relationship is free of charge, art. 392 of the Brazilian Civil Code applies: whoever offers mentoring without receiving anything in return is only liable for damage caused intentionally. Menvo does not guarantee that every mentee will find a mentor or that a mentorship will lead to any specific outcome.
Minimum age and care with minors
You must be 16 or older to use Menvo, as declared at sign-up. People aged 16 and 17 can search for mentors and book sessions as usual, but they do not appear on the Mentee Board: turning on “Public profile” means declaring you are 18 or older. Mentors who meet with minors must hold sessions through the platform's meeting link, must not ask for personal contacts, and must not propose in-person meetings. Any suspicion of inappropriate conduct can be reported to contato@menvo.com.br, and the account involved may be suspended while it is reviewed.
Accounts & Registration
You are responsible for the accuracy of information provided during signup and for maintaining credential security. Each user must maintain a single personal account.
Inactive accounts and automatic deletion
Accounts created from data imported from partner initiatives, such as the Estágio Recife form, that are never accessed will be automatically deleted 90 days after the first e-mail invitation. Before deletion, we'll send two warnings to the registered e-mail: one 30 days before and another 1 day before the scheduled date. To keep the account, just access it through the warning's link. After deletion, you receive a confirmation e-mail and can create a new account at any time. Accounts left without any access for more than 1 year will also be deleted, always with advance e-mail notice.
Contact between mentors and mentees
Mentors can see the profiles of mentees who turned on “Public profile” and reach out through the channels the mentee chose to show, such as LinkedIn. The first contact must be an offer of mentoring: say who you are and how you can help. Using this access for recruiting, selling courses, products or services, finding clients, spam or anything other than volunteer mentoring is not allowed. Conversations outside the platform (LinkedIn, WhatsApp, email, etc.) are the responsibility of the people involved. Menvo acts as an intermediary, and its liability for user-generated content follows art. 19 of the Brazilian Internet Civil Framework (Law No. 12,965/2014). Even so, we may suspend or delete accounts that break these Terms.
Conduct & Safety
Any form of harassment, discrimination, charging for mentorships or misuse of communication channels is forbidden. Violations may lead to suspension or deletion of the account. To report behavior, email contato@menvo.com.br.
Open source and intellectual property
Menvo's source code is open source and released under the MIT license at github.com/paulpessoa/menvo. The Menvo name, brand and visual identity are not covered by that license and may not be used to represent other projects. What you publish on your profile and what is shared in mentorships still belongs to its authors; by publishing it, you allow Menvo to display that content on the platform for the purposes of these Terms.
Contribute to Menvo
Because the project is open source, anyone can contribute code, copy reviews, translations, design or suggestions. Open an issue or a pull request at github.com/paulpessoa/menvo, or email contato@menvo.com.br. Contributions are voluntary too, follow the same no-employment rules in these Terms, and contributed code is licensed under MIT.
Communications
By signing up, you agree to receive essential platform notifications, including booking updates, messages between mentors and mentees, and session reminders.
Service Availability
We strive to keep the platform reliable and available, though uninterrupted service cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to perform maintenance and updates.
Limitation of Liability
Menvo connects people but is not responsible for the guidance, advice or decisions that come out of mentorships, nor for participants' conduct on or off the platform. Mentoring advice does not replace specialized professional advice such as legal, psychological, financial or medical.
